Marble Cake
A simple eggless marble cake with whipped cream frosting.So let's start the recipe. Yum
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup All purpose flour (maida)
3tablespoon milk powder or condensed milk
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3/4 cup castor sugar
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
2 tablespoon cocoa powder
2 tablespoon hot water.
For frosting:
300 ml milk cream
2 tablespoon icing sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 tablespoon fruit jam
Method:
Sieve flour with baking powder and baking soda and keep it aside.
In a bowl, cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
Add milk and mix well. Add vanilla essence and condensed milk and mix well again.
Then add the wet ingredients , mix in dry flour to make nice creamy batter.
Take half of the prepared batter in another bowl add cocoa powder and hot water and mix it nicely.
Preheat the oven to 180 degree. Grease and line the baking tin or pan.
Pour one cup of vanilla batter and one cup of cocoa batter on top and gently use fork to make random pattern as it would look like some swirls. Do not over do the mix. Repeat the steps again. First vanilla batter and again cocoa batter and swirls.
Bake in oven for 40-45 minutes at 180 degree or till toothpick inserted in cake comes out clean.
Cool down the cake for 10-15 minutes then invert on the wire rack.
For frosting :
Chill the beater and bowl . Pour 300 ml of milk cream in chilled bowl , add 2 tablespoon of icing sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence. Beat till it reaches soft peaks.
Spread the whipped cream all over the cake and decorate with jam as per your choice.
Cut into desired shape and enjoy .
Serve-6 pieces. Baking time -45 minutes
Note: You may use chocolate cream for frosting .
Oven temperature may vary , keep an eye in between after 20 minutes.
