Shortbread Cookies

Canadian cuisine varies widely depending on the regions of the nation.While many ingredients are commonly found throughout Canada, each region with its own history and local population has unique ingredients, which are used to define unique dishes.I have made Canadian short bread cookies topped with mixed dried fruits.So let's start the recipe.yum





Country- Canada

Ingredients:
1/2 cup Corn Starch(preferably Canadian corn starch)
1/2 cup icing sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup butter, softened
To garnish
1 tablespoon dried Mixed fruits

Method:
Sift together corn starch, sugar and flour. With the help of spoon, blend in butter until a soft and a smooth dough forms.

Shape into 1-inch balls or roll dough to 1/4 inch and cut into shapes with cookie cutters.

Place on in greased baking sheet with 1 1/2 inch apart from each other.

Decorate with candied cherries, fruits or nuts, if desired.

Bake at 150ºC for 15 to 20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on wire rack.



Sore in airtight container and enjoy whenever you want.
